I'm sorry to tell you, dear person who just phoned me up, but unless the Met's security has gone remarkably downhill in the past year or so, I don't think that you have the original Rembrandt Aristotle Contemplating the Bust of Homer, no matter how many times you tell me that it's signed! It's signed and dated! Signed!

Date: 2008-04-08 01:21 pm (UTC)It took me ten minutes just to get her to tell me that it was some sort of paint-on-canvas reproduction as opposed to a poster-type reproduction...every time I asked she told me it was signed! A signed painting! I finally had to ask her, "When you put your hand down on the surface, do you feel paint?" before she answered my question.
