My relative's test for the scary cancer gene has come back negative. It seems that her cancer has been caused by a somatic mutation - something that occurs after conception and is not inherited or passed down. I don't know for sure if that means my father will not bother getting tested himself, but I think that's the case, and it means that my sister and I don't have to get the testing done. If dad had tested positive, we would be faced with the choice to test or not to - there would be health insurance and life insurance ramifications if we did so. It's good to not have this as an additional worry, since I already have my big concern about health insurance issues. Feh.

I am still dragging around, although I finally got to bed at a reasonable time yesterday. I also hadn't had time to get to the gym this week due to a full schedule and then not feeling up for it yesterday - although if I had been feeling good, I'd have gone to Two Gentlemen of Verona and not the gym, so it doesn't matter anyway. I'll go tonight and no doubt have a crappy workout since I've been dogging it, but them's the breaks.

Oh, I also have to return the cheap-ass yoga ball I bought at Target. For ten bucks, I didn't expect much, but it's too small and I want one made out of the better heavy-duty plastic. That can wait, though.

Things continue to try and beat us down, but we keep plodding along.
