The journey (image heavy)
May. 12th, 2011 01:06 pmThe trip to DC was relatively smooth - no travel delays, and good service on Delta (nicer planes than I've seen recently, too) a nice time with my family and friends, some visiting time for favorite museums, an interesting and productive work conference, and a very comfortable, fun to drive, so-ugly-it's-cute Nissan Cube as our rental car (despite my overwhelming anger at how much the rental actually cost).
The conference was hosted at the National Archives:

It was a short, but very good trip.

Bemo did ask why I didn't bring her home
Sep. 26th, 2004 09:14 pmCelebrated Persia's birthday yesterday in fine style, including a trip to Palena and much bootyshaking at Polly Esther's. Sadly, the dance club was not stocked with flocks of hot and single guys, although Cherbear was followed around all night by a very puppy dog-like Capitol Hill staffer (still in suit and tie, poor boy!), who attempted to charm her but unfortunatly came off as a gigantic dork. Meanwhile, I was hassled by a gorgeous but utterly obnoxious lesbian who kept trying to haul me away from the group to dance with her. It might have been the overpowering effects of my cleavage - I was wearing the Lane Bryant patented "Boobs set on kill" bra. On the other hand, it was probably just that she was totally shitfaced and felt like acting inappropriately. Cherbear nearly popped her one for me, but luckily she found other, more willing dance partners.
So it was a great night in DC, with minimal getting lost and maximum fun. More birthdays should be like that.
