Work this week has been physically intense - lots of chugging up and down stairs, dismantling and reassembling many many steel shelving units, and moving furniture. It'll be tough going next week as well, and the week after that - more of the same, plus an exhibition install on top of it all. We were supposed to go have dinner with Cherbear tonight, but I finked out - my knees were screaming and all I could think about was pounding some Tylenol and climbing into the tub for a long hot soak. It's days like this than I wish we had a nice big soaking tub, instead of an ordinary tub-type tub. I could use some fabulous whirlpool action.

It's not fun work, but it's all the work we have to do before the fun part starts.

I have read both my new books and am now pouting about it. They were really good books, too. To console myself, I'm rereading Doris Egan's Ivory books You may know her name from House these days - she's one of the writers. (She's got an LJ as well, but I can't quite remember the name.) The books are an interesting blend of fantasy (magic usage) and SF (spaceships and advanced technology and the like) with some nifty worldbuilding, and they feature a heroine I like very much. It's been a while since I've read the books, but I'm glad I dug my omnibus copy out.
