Cute Fuzzy Animals For The Win

Spent Saturday at the zoo, enjoying the delicious weather and the cute fuzzy animals. The zoo is a small one, but pretty well stocked - goats, a llama, and an alpaca for the kiddies to feed (plus some dromedaries in another enclosure that you can feed using a hopper so they don't accidentally take off a finger), a building containing various marmosets and a golden lion tamarind, meercats, an armadillo named Fez, bats, tree kangaroos, and tree shrews, and other outdoor enclosures with everything from harbor seals to bald eagles to baboons to one very lazy leopard dozing in the sun. Plus, random strolling peacocks, including an albino. There were a few too many screaming children (the zoo has just opened for the season, so with the good weather it was the obvious place to go) and a few too many obnoxious adults (I get why children bang on the glass, but when stupid adults do it as well I want to behead them - I'm looking at you, grandma with the bad dentures and you, douchebag at the baboon enclosure) but overall it was a very good way to spend a few hours.
Leaving for Denver this Saturday - it's time for the big annual conference. Should be a nice change of pace. Plus, I haven't been there since 1993, and I'm eager to go back and see the city again.
After having glorious weather on Saturday and Sunday and part of this morning, I was very displeased to note that the temperature has dropped back down into "brrrr" and my festive pink skirt is decidedly too flimsy. I discovered the change in the weather when I tripped blithely out to do my sculpture walk this morning, and realized that there was no way I was going to be able to make it to all of them without the addition of several extra layers.
