Seen everywhere, and because poking through stats is fun and weirdly affirming, even if you're just quietly on the fringes. By a long shot, my Avengers/MCU stuff has gotten me the highest hit counts because it's the largest fandom I've written for. By the time I got to things like Buffy and Firefly, I was long, long past the peak boom times.
Looking for You (Or Anyone Like You) - Avengers movie, Clint/Natasha, fluffy team-ish first time story where Natasha is irked at all the overly-perceptive ladies getting in her business. 1910 hits.
Stickshifts and Safety Belts - Clint/Natasha adorable smut featuring grease-smudged Clint, impulsive Natasha, and gleeful Tony. 1895 hits.
Understanding that You've Understood. Bourne Legacy, Aaron/Marta. Not Avengers, but definitely riding the Jeremy Renner wave. My attempt at Marta's perspective, in which I gave her a bit of backstory and tried to explore things from her perspective. 1783 hits.
The Children's Hour, a genfic involving a regressed-to-childhood Natasha and Clint. Avengers as a found family, all the way. 1454 hits.
Sour by the Minute (But You're Sweeter By the Hour) - more Avengers, this time Bruce/Natasha. I did a more friendshippy story and then an immediate followup that goes into sexy times. Unsurprisingly, the followup overtook the first story in hit counts fairly quickly! 1272 hits.
Deep Red Bells - Mentalist, Jane/Red John (sorta a little bit) and Van Pelt/Jane. I'm usually not a dark writer, but something about this fandom and this pairing brings out all the murkiness of my soul. (Which, in a world that features fic about really, really horrible stuff done by My Little Ponies, is really not all that murky.) 1008 hits.
I Know My Place (But It Don't Know Me) - the friendshippy Bruce/Natasha story. 998 hits.
It's Only A Paper Moon - my first Leverage story, written when it was still eligible for Yuletide. A little gen story about movie night for Parker, Eliot, and Hardison. 757 hits.
Good Ideas - Mentalist. A kink meme fill with Jane/Van Pelt/Cho. 720 hits.
Files Dresden Files. A gen Yuletide story featuring Justine, a supporting character who has a lot of interesting aspects to explore. 682 hits.
The majority of the stories are the same, but not identical.
Stickshifts and Safety Belts - 97 kudos
The Children's Hour - 92 kudos
Looking for You (Or Anyone Like You) - 89 kudos
Understanding That You've Understood - 72 kudos
In Two Straight Lines In Rain or Shine - a Firefly/Avengers crossover with the Firefly crew picking up a pair of strangers on a backend dustball known as Budapest. 56 kudos to only 470 hits, which is a pretty nice ratio, I think.
Sour by the Minute (But You're Sweeter By the Hour - 55 kudos
This Puzzle The New World - a Yuletide story set in the universe of Sean Stewart's book Mockingbird. A story I really struggled with, and was amazed at the great response to. 27 kudos to 258 hits.
Human Resources - my very first MCU story, right after I saw Iron Man and fell in love. How Pepper Potts got her job. 24 kudos to 559 hits.
Deep Red Bells - 19 kudos
I Act Out and You Act Tough - a Leverage/BtVS crossover, where Faith and Eliot meet up somewhere in the lonely American midwest. 18 kudos to 344 hits.
So I don't know that there's anything to learn from this, besides "people prefer pairings over gen unless it's Yuletide," and "bigger fandoms mean more readership."
