Dollhouse: Alpha

sienamysticEnver Gjokaj is doing such a fabulous job as Victor. No matter what happens to this show, I hope he gets a lot of work to showcase his talent, because he is good.
And Alan Tudyk, who is also a fantastic actor, is hot like burning. Gnngh. His arms are a work of art.
I had, alas, been spoiled earlier about the Tudyk=Alpha thing. But his turn from agoraphobic weirdo to scalpel-wielding psycho was scary and awesome. I hope that they aren't going to go down some Bonnie and Clyde deal with Alpha and Echo (or, as somebody has said, Spike and Dru). And in the previews, we see that he totally has his own imprinting chair. And I guess this ep. shows that Alpha isn't fighting the good fight against the Dollhouse - he's not a noble psycopath!
So Dr. Fred is or was a doll - Whiskey. I'm pretty sure that's what was being stated there. Except how did Dominic!Victor know that? Did Alpha pass that on to him? BTW, Envers as Victor-playing-Dominic was heartbreaking and gave me the cold shudders.
Boyd and Ballard duking it out - awesome fight scene. And who the hell can you root for in that instance? Well...you can root for Echo, who doesn't seem too interested in either of these white knights galloping to her rescue, and now has been appropriated by a third. For purposes we don't know yet. Boyd truly seems to hold on to those signed contracts as his only justification for all this. He actually was arguing against Adelle's idea to simply pop Ballard in the chair (and thus gain a nicely buff new Active? Or just wipe him clean of the last few days, maybe implant a few new ideas, and send him back out into the world?) because Ballard hadn't signed the contracts, hadn't agreed. And yet, Boyd seemed to know about Sierra's situation, so it doesn't all add up just yet.
This is more of what I hoped this show would do, and I wish there were more of it instead of one more day and an unlikely second season. It wasn't perfect - I worry about a tumble down the Well of Cliches if they go the Natural Born Killers route with Echo and Alpha - but it kept me riveted.
Also, in case I hadn't stated it firmly enough, DAYM ALAN TUDYK YOU ARE FINE.
