My turn to pick the play for play reading group this month, and I selected Christopher Fry's The Lady's Not for Burning. It was my choice because of its appearance in Pamela Dean's Tam Lin - I was curious about it but I don't enjoy reading plays "cold" - if I can see it performed or read out loud, it helps me process the text a lot better. The text in the play is very dense and alliterative, and hearing it spoken helped me understand it a lot. It's a slightly difficult play for people - very thick in parts and a lot of upper-level vocabulary - but we muddled through it pretty well and I was happy with how it went.
My new shoes are here, both of them fit perfectly, and I'm thrilled with how both of them look. Yay new shoes!

-- Yeah, that's a hard play for me to read on the page too -- I'd love to see it staged, or read.
