Leverage: Why I love it so

Just mainlined a bunch of Leverage episodes, including a couple I hadn't seen before plus the season finale. I have so much mad love for this show, not surprising since I adore caper and heist movies. It's like a mini-Ocean's 11 every week, except I love this team so much more. It does great at snappy patter and a quick, lively pace, but it's not too bad with darker, more moody moments as well - mostly because they know not to dwell on them too long and just let them shade in some of the characters without making a big deal that it's happening.

There's just been so much good television getting made recently - shows that make me giddy with delight. Although I've lost Pushing Daisies, and I'm sure Life is on the bubble as well. But with Leverage, there is even more to be gleeful about since I know it's secure for a second season, at least. The season finale was fabooo, too.

I clearly need an icon.

My flist was quiet about this show and then all of a sudden a bunch of people started talking about it last week, so I tivoed a bunch of episodes for Tuesday when I was home over the weekend. I'm really excited to watch it! And I love Ocean's 11 and Ocean's 11-related media, so this should be good.

I was a little late on the bandwagon, and I tend not to post too much fannish stuff because I never have anything articulate to say besides *squee!* but yeah, I've definitely seen more chatter about the show recently. It's a ton of fun, really it is.

Oh yeah. I love it too, but confess to loving Burn Notice better. Even so, I love how things go wrong on Leverage, no matter how careful they are to plan, then they have to get themselves out of deep doodoo.

Burn Notice looks interesting, but I didn't get in on that one on the ground floor, so to speak. I'll have to figure out a way to play catch-up at some point.

Leverage was just the thing for winter blues, for me. Like you, I love everyone on the team. Some reviewers say "Oh, we've seen these capers before," but you know, that doesn't matter much. These guys have their own style. AND the 2 part finale was fantastic.

Burn Notice...every time I manage to catch an ep, I like it, but I just can't work up to making it "must see."
