Festivities
Jun. 10th, 2010 03:29 pmIt's my birthday, and my birthday cake at work turned out to be a beautiful lemon pound cake, served with fresh strawberries and blueberries. And I have treated myself to an iced coffee, so I am at present very happy (and full).
We have no plans whatsoever (and no money to do anything even if we did!) so it'll just be another day. It's kind of a milestone birthday - right smack in the middle of the thirties - but although I've had the impulse to be pouty at times, I'm trying to not let myself get bogged down. I have some insecurities about being too young for my age...you know, all that crap about whether I'm really an adult or just cleverly disguised as one, and then again is the disguise even fooling anybody?
There's family drama going on, as well - my stupid father picks the most inopportune times to poke his head out of the shrubbery and require handling - but hopefully that will all be resolved by late afternoon tomorrow. Until he calls us back about our dreaded Colon Gene, that is.
Carnivale is looking to be confusing but fascinating. We have disc two and three to watch sometime this weekend. Ooh, and SYTYCD is finally done with the mostly-dull audition process (wtf with the home visits and manufactured drama and outright lying about the situation with Ida? Stupid showrunners.) and the top ten dance tonight.
Back to scanning.
