chicken salad, cat stories, and other good things

Chicken breasts cooling until I can chop them up to mix with dried cranberries, pecans, and grapes for a nice salad, then strawberry shortcake for dinner. Bought a pint of adorable strawberries from the custodian of the museum - his kids do 4-H stuff. I could have gotten rhubarb but besides the traditional crumble, I don't really know what to do with it and besides, I'm not a hardcore fan. The office is divided between rhubarb lovers and haters - our education director has a clever rhubarb coffee cake that manages to bridge the gap somehow.

Brushed another cat's worth of hair off the Little White Cat. The other two shed like normal cats, but Kit seems to have some sort of mission with her shedding - she seeks out targets to lie on, she curls up and sleeps in the closet to disperse it over everything I might possibly wear ever, and she sheds in volumes that are slightly awe-inspiring.

I find it amusing that Ratchet (our giant orange cat) refuses to trust his bulk to the small top platform of the cat tree (domain of the two girls), but instead perches on the kitchen stool. He then poses because he knows he looks like a cat food commercial - very suave.

Had a good workout at the gym. Am once again at the low end of my weight swing, so here's hoping I can push past it. The giant dinner may pose a problem - perhaps I should take a walk after!
