Being Neighborly
Sep. 14th, 2005 01:05 pmI work in an area of DC that has a lot of very pretty buildings - some of them with surprisingly lovely gardens, courtyards, or other areas not really known to the general public. A good example is our neighbor, the Organization of American States. Built in 1910, it has very classic Beaux-Arts styling, but the designers were very interested in making sure it reflected South American motifs. Plus, it has a very lovely garden in the back that, although currently neglected and overgrown with weeds, is still home to a very striking statue.
