I can now cast on like nobody's buisness. But the knitting part is proving more difficult - my stitches are very uneven and lumpy and I've unraveled my yarn twice because I did something mysterious which resulted in things Not Looking Right At All. So today in the car on the way to work, I restarted, making a big effort to make my stitches loose so I could see what I was doing, and things seem to be going better. I'm going to go filch the Stitch 'N Bitch book off of the docent coordinator's desk and have a look at the diagrams.

In other news...well, there isn't any, really. Bemo and I dogsat last night, but we'll be back home tonight, with a Netflixed Muppet Show and Keen Eddie disc to keep us entertained. Bemo had a job interview for a temp position yesterday, but walked out after about five minutes when the woman doing the interviewing yelled at him for coming fifteen minutes early, because she wasn't yet prepared. Apparently the interview went downhill from there, and after about five minutes, Bemo stood up, said that he thought it was by now obvious that things would not work out, and left. It makes you wonder why he's the third person to go in for this job and not take it, hmm?

And congrats to [livejournal.com profile] swooop, who has triumped over the BRAC in fine style *g*.

Meme-osity:

Make a list of all the characters in your icons. (Although you may have more than one icon of a single character, they only go on the list once.) Alphabetize it. Take the first two people on the list; that's your first pairing. Second two people; second pairing, etc.

My iconage is pretty wide-ranging, so this indeed made for some very crack pairings:

Angela/Asterix - Well, um. I'm really not sure how they'd think of each other. I don't know if Asterix could handle a competent female.

Bellatrix/Catherine of Siena - Catherine would not take any of this Death Eater shit. Exorcism, ASAP.

Claudius the Emperor/Colin from The Amazing Race - Colin is pretty driven, so I could see him schmoozing his way through the imperial court.

Ducard/Queen Elizabeth of England - I think he might end up replacing Walsingham as her spymaster, and she'd definitely dig him - unless he was trying to bring down her rule from the inside, in which case she'd promptly separate his head from his shoulders.

Etienne Navarre/Faramir - These two would get along so splendidly, I can't even imagine. But I don't see them winding up in bed together. Just lots of late-night talks.

Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy/God - *insert your own joke here*

Gabriel/Greg House - I typed this out and actually started laughing. House would be an interesting study in humanity for Gabriel, wouldn't he?

Jareth/John Cleese - Well, um. These two are in such different universes that my brain breaks if I try to picture them interacting.

John Constantine/Mr. John Smith - Another pair that would really, really like each other. Efficent, ruthless, and totally bad ass. They'd exchange trade secrets and weaponry.

Princess Katherine of France/Luke Skywalker - Awww. Such a fairy tale. But all that fresh-faced innocence in one room might be a bit much. Although we know Luke eventually grows out of it.

Lord Peter Wimsey/Machiavelli - They'd never run out of things to talk about. And I suspect that should Peter ever be out of character enough to so desire it, this pair could RULE THE WORLD.

Rosanno Brazzi/Sean Bean - the only way this pairing is acceptable is if I'm smack in the middle of it. So much hotness in one room defies all laws of nature.

Alixana the Empress/Westley - Sorry, Westley. For all your smarts, swordsmanship, unbridled sex appeal, and general heroic nature, she'd eat you for breakfast if she so chose.

Any of these pairings strike your fancy? Or you could shuffle the cards and give me pairings that break your brain in a good way.
