Little White Cat is feeling much better. The vet gave her an injection of an anti-inflamatory to drop the fever, a dose of subcutaneous fluids to make sure she wasn't dehydrated, and some antibiotics. When we let her out of the carrier, she ran over to the scratching post and worked it furiously, then wandered around the house making sure things were still where she left them. She had the slightly offended air of a person who has been out of the country for a few years, and who then returns to find that the furniture in their house has been rearranged. By this morning, the fever was obviously back, but she was still alert and willing to move around the house. Hopefully by the weekend, there will be even more improvement.

No word yet from the place I sent my Highly Important Envelope to, but then it's still technically too soon to realistically expect anything. However, I haven't been able to shake the feeling that instead of sending off a letter and resume, I instead sent them my health insurance forms, a copy of the lyrics to "Killer Queen," and perhaps a wad of used chewing gum.

Have also been fighting against a low-voltage undercurrent of anger recently. It's not a big thing, just a slightly higher tendency to growl when frustrated. The amount of provocation it takes to frustrate me has also lessened, so things that I would normally let roll off my back have instead dug in like small thorns. I'm feeling less generous of spirit, and more inclined to take careless words from other people as a direct affront. Thankfully, I also know when to hold my tounge, so hopefully I haven't bitten off any heads. (This might be a good mood in which to write Constantine-fic. Not sure, and I have no plot bunny hopping around my skull, so we'll see.)

So, in conclusion, grrrrr, arrrrrghhhh, and rrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I´m glad your cat´s got such a thorough treatment (it takes a day or two til antibiotics really hit). About growling-ness, it might be the approaching full moon or some other unexplainable influence, but you do know that cats are extremely sensitive and, just as they pick up upset vibes, they can disturb humans around them when *they* are distressed? Maybe there´s nothing to it, but if there is, you´re both reinforcing the cycle unknowingly, and perhaps if you find a way to regain some peace and calm, she´ll feel it and respond to it ;)
