This one's been everywhere recently.

Type your birthday (minus the year) into Wikipedia’s search bar and post the following that happened on that day: three interesting things, two births, and one death.

My birthday is June 10 (waves to [livejournal.com profile] angevin2, my birthday next-door neighbor)

Three Interesting Things

1. 1190 - Third Crusade: Frederick I Barbarossa drowns in the Saleph River while leading an army to Jerusalem.

2. 1692 - Salem witch trials: Bridget Bishop is hanged at Gallows Hill near Salem, Massachusetts, for "certaine Detestable Arts called Witchcraft & Sorceries".

3. 1924 - Fascists kidnap and kill Italian socialist leader Giacomo Matteotti in Rome.

Two Births

1. 1897 - Grand Duchess Tatiana of Russia
2. 1910 - Howlin' Wolf, American musician

One Death
1. 323 BC - Alexander the Great (b. 356 BC)

So I looked mine up: Emperor Justinian died on my birthday, as did Hegel (which explains my fundamental lack of understanding there!) and Monet was born on my birthday. I also think Gerrit van Honthorst was, too! But Justinian is sweet. Also, Children's Book week begins on Nov. 14...maybe I should have tried that, instead!

Yay Justinian! There were only a couple of things that were interesting for my birthday - on the whole, not a lot happened.
