The worlds needs a Bourne-style Black Widow movie and we need it, like, tomorrow. It is so obvious, and Marvel needs to do it so they can take my money.
I've only seen the first of the Grim 'n Gritty Batmen, and decided I didn't really need to see the rest. Once the point is hit, like you say, when it just moves past dark and into Nothing Will Ever Be Good Or Right, I just don't need to be there.
