This is beautiful, and wonderfully in character. I have to say, though, my favorite lines were:
&rt; Mal shakes his head. “I got a good crew here, none of that type. Well, there’s Jayne, but he’s gotten much politer since River stabbed him.” &rt; Barton’s eyebrow goes up. “I can see as how that might be an effective method of training a man.”
