My 7th grade social studies teacher, Miss Binkowski, would walk into her classroom (her trailer, actually) and say, "What year?" and we knew we were to answer, "1066!"
She was the same one who gave us a creative writing assignment about imagining what it would have been like to live in ancient Greece. She was letting me write? imaginatively? In history class?? I wrote that I'd go back to ancient Greece as a 6 ft. tall, athletic blond (stop it) and she wrote, "Wow!" on my paper. I still remember that wow. :)
