Once a year the day comes 'round

Bemo and I went up to Omaha in celebration of our 11 years of marriage. Wandered around the Old Market area - cute, but a little treacherous because of the thin slick of snow over everything, and also very not-bustling. I guess Omahans don't go there on cold Saturdays. We ate at the Upstream Brewing Company, where the food was a trifle hit and miss - some of it very good, some of it only fair - but overall had a nice enough time.

Drove back into a gorgeous, flaming pink and red and orange sunset, with traces of light and dark blue and clouds swirling through it. I took a few photos but will have to wait to post them here as my Flickr uploads are done for the month. I also took a photo of the very cute smiling/winking barn that we drive past every time we come back from Omaha. I'm not sure how a barn got so much personality, but there it is.

Off to scrub out the crockpot and make applesauce.
