No victory dance for me. And I admit to being disappointed.
Edited to add: A trifle surprised at the vehemence of the dislike for Pope Fester: he's not great, but dear lord above, he's not the worst one that we could have gotten. The Nigerian cardinal was a lot more conservative, same for the Brazilian guy, I believe (have to check - I've been reading a bunch of biographies of cardinals recently, as you can tell.) I'm thinking he's going to be a stopgap: second verse, same as the first, and the Cardinals will get the chance to do some thinking about the direction of the church. As somebody on another thread commented, the next choice is the one to watch.
