So I have turned my hands to something more productive

After all that moderate angst and rather more tidying, the assholes never showed up.

Luckily, I decided not to wait around, and cooked up some pork chops marinated in soy sauce and garlic. And then, inspired by how tasty my birthday cake was, I looked up an easy recipe for pound cake and made my own - lemon and almond (didn't have vanilla extract in the house). I don't think I thickened the glaze properly, although I'm not sure why it didn't work, but the cake itself is quite tasty.

Right now I have a fat marmalade cat purring happily on me (and making it hard to type). I will waste no more energy contemplating The Management at this moment.
