Got the goods

Woke up very late, and I'm still a bit drowsy, but feel much better. I love flying into National - having the Metro there, having the nice view of the city as you come in, it's just such a nice airport (especially compared to Newark, which is all middling function over any form whatsoever). So we hopped on the Metro, got picked up by Boop, and headed over to mom's house. Mom is in rare form - very chipper. She admired my weight loss by telling me "Your face has fallen!" Thanks, mom! I think she means my cheeks are less chubby, but honestly, who knows.

Boop hauled me off to Trader Joe's, where I picked up a few odds and ends. Goodness, I'm going to have to check a bag on the way back.

Tomorrow, Cher picks us up early and we head off into the city - the arboretum and Eastern Market, probably. And then an evening with Cher and Persia (and Persia's new kitten, apparently). Sunday is the wedding of Chess, hurrah! The next three days we have only loosely scheduled, but we'll figure it all out. We had the fleeting thought of renting a car, but forty bucks a day just sucks, and we weren't able to get a much lower price even using a discount through our bank. Feh.

Anyway, it's nice to be back, and although I don't know if I can simultaneously relax and still see a lot of people, I'll give it a shot!
