I wish my visit to Chicago was longer - and I think I need to drag the Bemo up there soon, as he's never been. I really love that city, even though I've only barely gotten to know it. The new modern wing on the Art Institute of Chicago is very sleek and lovely, and I now have seen Cloud Gate (aka The Bean) in another season, as my photo in an earlier entry shows. It may actually be more beautiful with snow whipping around it, and the gray sky. Plus, any day that I get to see Marina Towers is a day when I giggle happily to myself.

I figured my brief trip away from the gym (and into a land filled with lovely food) might have put a pound or so back on me, but apparently all the walking (dear god, do my feet hurt) actually helped me shed two. This despite my "treat myself once" meal, which featured a lovely Thai cuke salad, pasta with spicy sausage and soft melting lumps of goat cheese, and two delicate scoops of sorbet, one of which was lovely, the other of which was good, but so mouth-puckeringly tart that I could only manage about half of it. Oh, and a trip to Trader Joe's - I brought back some stuff but completely failed to realize that duh, my almond butter and peach salsa were non-TSA approved. I hope some sneaky TSA agent went back in the bin after them when nobody was looking, because they were sealed. And delicious.

In other news, I'm ready for it to be spring now.
