So, about that skull. That flocked, fuchsia piggybank skull that I asked you guys to name.

Well, here I was, innocently reading and enjoying all your suggestions. And I had casually told people at work that I was looking for names, because it was such a prominent fixture on my desk. And then one of my co-workers said, "You're looking for a name for it, huh? How about Tallulah. Tallulah Bankhead."

I'm sorry, people. My inherent love of a very stupid pun has struck, and the name stuck. However, since you all were so nice to play along with me, I am going to give you all magnets for being entertaining. Kindly email me your address at sienamystic at gmail, and I will send you off a little package of them with my best wishes. Indeed, if you have any requests, such as favorite colors, prefer abstract patterns to images, would like all round ones or all square ones, let me know and I will see if I can oblige, although I can't make any promises.

Oddly enough, I do have another unnamed skull, from last year's Day of the Dead celebration here. But it doesn't seem to need a name. I call it the Butterfly Skull, and that seems to suit it just fine. Here's an image of the whole figure, which collapsed due to bad welds shortly after it was put up - it's why I was permitted to just keep the skull, as the figures usually are auctioned off for charity.

So none of you besides Kate would like magnets? (Kate, I have no skulls, but I think I have some magnets you might like). I'm beginning to feel wounded that nobody wants my free stuff!

Anyway, it's going to be a busy week and weekend. This Thursday, I'll be going with some friends to my second Shakespeare in the Cemetery, aka a performance of Julius Caesar by Flatwater Shakespeare Company. It's one of my favorite plays and I've never seen it performed, so I'm very excited. And then this Sunday, I hope to drag Bemo out on the Junk Jaunt, which is this giant mid-Nebraska...well, sort of like a collective yard sale. It goes on from Friday to Sunday, and apparently people sell all manner of food, antiques, yard-sale stuff, bins of nails, old toilets, whatever. Most people apparently make a weekend of it, staying at hotels and things, and conducting swaps along the way, but we'll have to limit it to Sunday only. Pack a lunch, look for antique radios for Bemo, vintage magazines and a coffee table for me, and an antique first aid tin for Boop. But the searching will hopefully be the fun part.
