I love Liam Neeson, but this movie tested that love a teensy bit. I was watching it on the promise of mindless Liam Neeson asskickery, but it didn't even really live up to those standards. Sure, there were people being kicked, punched, and shot left and right, but the movie failed to generate much tension, suspense, or excitement. I watched it while knitting, and frequently didn't even feel compelled to look up to the screen. On the other hand, Liam Neeson has a great voice to threaten people with.

One of the mysteries of the universe
Aug. 9th, 2009 11:51 pmWhen people do a web search for "dragon wolf," what are they looking for? A wolf with scales that breathes fire? A fuzzy dragon? A t-shirt with the two creatures battling it out? Celtic knotwork design?
What they find of mine is a photo of a sculpture in Bomarzo, of a dragon fighting a wolf. The garden in which it stands is full of other weird sculptures, of monsters and sirens and oddities galore. A wolf fighting a dragon is hardly the strangest concept in the garden.
I just wonder if it's some sort of attempt to see what happens when you type in the names of the most radical animals EVAR to see what you get back. And it makes me think of that Three Wolves t-shirt dealie on Amaaon, that turned into an Internet Superstar of Parody.
