1. Castle was a little off this week, although not in a way I could definitively point my finger at. Lil' bit of dialogue trouble, lil' bit of plot trouble, perhaps.
2. The Mentalist was a lot off this week, at least for me. I don't notice when the police procedural stuff is off, but if it's way, way, way the hell off, I'll notice it and be really annoyed. Work with me here, people.
3. I've finally gotten to watch a couple of episodes of The Unusuals and am enjoying it a lot. I'm not even to the point where I know character names yet, but I'll get there soon.
4. Dollhouse ranges from really mediocre to really fascinating tv. But what I'm most interested in, I think, are the meaty conversations and writing I've seen, particularly at TWOP (where in general, things usually aren't so good - likely the fact that it's a relatively small forum saves it from the really inane stuff). I also refuse to apologise for finding interest in a show that is doing a lot of disturbing things, because for the most part, I think they are also trying to make sure that the disturbing under-and-overtones don't get missed. They don't always succeed, and sometimes they really slip up, but I like seeing things in the show that I recognise from Cyteen, the Bujold Vorkosigan books, and other science-fiction premises given a slightly different spin. Since I don't tend to read a lot of hard sf, this show makes for a good prod to get me thinking about stuff in a deeper manner. Joss Whedon is neither my Jesus nor my Satan, but I do think he makes for interesting tv.
Oh, and there are also some excellent characters played by excellent actors on the show.
5. I think I registered my OpenId at Dreamwidth, but have no plans on moving over there unless my entire flist decamps and I am left to sob in the wilderness.
6. I will probably go see the new Wolverine movie, but I'm only barely familiar with Deadpool and the Gambit of the movie is not my Gambit. I'm not sure what my Gambit is, exactly, except for the one drawn by Jim Lee which is when I was actually reading comics. I miss that Gambit, and his relationship with Rogue (which they've abandoned in the books now, yes?) and I also miss Kitty Pride and Pete Wisdom.
7. I am feeling the urge to write fic of some sort. But I can't tell what sort, and of who, and what they'd be doing.
