Shake ya moneymaker
Apr. 15th, 2008 04:01 pmWe owe the Feds a whopping nine dollars, which is fine by me, I suppose. Even if we were entitled to a huge refund, we'd not see the money - Bemo's ancient student loans are in default, so the refund money gets shuttled over in that direction. Besides, after the Two Years of Great Mistakes, I'm not used to having a refund.
Whether or not this means we'll get that incentive money is unknown - I don't know if they'll seize the entire 1200, or just Bemo's half. If the money shows up in May, I know what I want to do with it, namely pay off one credit card, buy a digital camera if we haven't gotten one by then, put the rest in savings for a down payment on a house. Three percent down would be sufficient for a lot of the loans around here, and that works out to about three thousand bucks, which is doable if we have a nice chunk to build on. Without that nice chunk, it'll take some time. On the other hand, we may not get the money, which sucks but I'm not allowing myself to get caught up in that.
I really, really want a decent digital camera, darn it.
