BPAL review: Catherine
Feb. 28th, 2008 01:26 pmNamed for the ambitious, vengeful poisoner Catherine deMedici, who used perfumes to perform her dark deeds. A sinful blend of orange blossom, rosemary and rose... allegedly the exact perfume she utilzed in her work.
In the bottle, I smell rose with a strong underlay of orange blossom, which transmutes the rose into something unusual. The rosemary is a faint green background, but I can only smell it if I concentrate hard on finding it.
On me, it's roses, roses, roses - soft, lovely, and very nice, but almost completely devoid of the rosemary that I was really hoping for, and without the orange blossom making much of a difference. I do like it, but I want my rosemary, darn it! Behold me stomp my foot in a dainty fashion!
If anybody can recommend BPAL blends with rosemary/green herbal scents that I should try, please let me know.
Oh, and I've lured Jess into the fold - she just placed an order and I'm eager to see what she thinks of her choices.
