Today I did a trial run of the kitty pills which will hopefully keep them quiet and less stressed during the upcoming car trip. I dosed all three and we sat around to wait out the half-hour it takes for the pill to take effect. And then, the entertainment began!
Kit fought the effects for as long as possible, and tried to do things as usual - but then would find herself in the bottom of a box she had climbed into, but couldn't get out of. We had to rescue her several times. Dexter blissed out immediately, and we were even able to brush him without him complaining like we were pulling his toenails out. He spent most of the time lying on the bed, looking like he wanted us to bring him Twinkies and Doritos. Gracie insisted on walking from room to room - sideways. And then she decided she *had* to get up onto the kitchen counter, because Bemo had been slicing some of the turkey leftovers up, and she wanted to investigate. I've never seen a cat *miss* a jump to a kitchen counter before.
All told, I think the magic pink pills will help us all survive the ride without murder being done.
