Ponderings on apartments
Aug. 26th, 2007 08:53 pmAs I may have mentioned a time or two *cough* I've not been happy with our apartment, and have been kicking myself for not reading reviews or asking around more before signing the lease. I've been contemplating packing us up at the end of the lease, but I just did a bit of poking around for reviews of our second choice, which would put us a little closer to the Metro, and strike me dead if they aren't just as bad, if not worse.
I know that the majority of people only go onto those review sites if they want to complain, so I'm not placing much emphasis on an apartment that has, say, only twenty reviews with 17 of them bad. But a complex that has 250 reviews, with maybe 30 of them positive...that says a lot more to me.
So now I'm wondering if it's better to stay with the devil I know, being this place, and just continue my plan of writing down everything (and making sure they see me keeping track of it all) rather than uprooting us after only a year here to take us to another apartment that might be just as bad, if not worse. Which will probably be what happens, because it's less trouble.
