YAY LIBRARY HAUL

I love leaving the library with a giant stack of books. I'll try to post little reviews as I work through the pile. I decided to start with Visual Shock: A History of Art Controversies in American Culture, which starts looking at controversies from the 1830s to the present day (post-World War II memorial, Piss Christ, Sensations exhibit). Some of the controversies I was aware of, like George Washington as Zeus Thunderer, Greek Slave, and the Vietnam War Memorial, but many of them I wasn't much aware of, so it lokos really interesting.

Also spent much of the day getting the tarp off the pool at mom's house. Lots of dead worms, but thankfully only one unidentified corpse of any size. The pool people come by on Wednesday to do the other stuff, and after that we can frolic like wee dolphins in our ill-fitting swimsuits. Hurrah, summer!
