I love watching horseracing, but I admit to not fully realizing just how immature the average racing Thoroughbred is, and I'm not quite sure how I feel about the whole thing anymore. The only horse I've ever owned was an ex-dressage horse, half Dutch Warm Blood, half TB. He was huge, 21 years old, cranky as all get out, and I adored him madly. He was one of the lucky ones - he made it to a riding stable in the Philippines, and then became a cosseted semi-retired horse owned by a doting sixteen year old. He could very easily have been catsmeat.
Read the comments on the entry, as well - there are some very interesting ones.
