A small gem - a message left in our comment book for our current exhibit on samplers and quilts. Somebody doesn't quite understand the concept of a museum, methinks - especially a museum that advertises itself as a decorative arts museum that stops at around the Industrial Revolution.

"Why so much focus on the past? Were they that perfect? Be objective!"

Why thank you for that reasoned critique! Indeed, our ancestors were scum, and I'm not sure why we spend all our time idolizing them by displaying the raggedy crap they called quilts and the half-assed needlework that some no-talent child whipped up. How have we been so wrong for all these years?

Even funnier is the supportive comment just below this message: "Good point, [girl's name]!" Because finally, somebody is getting the message out! Will somebody please put an end to this senseless worship of the past? What of the children? What of the chilllllldddddrrrrreeeeennnnn?
