Three to get Deadly

I've been meaning to pick up a Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum book for a while now. Yesterday, a copy of Three to Get Deadly floated my way, so I read it. It was a lot of fun in some ways, but sometimes the writing would just bring me up short with a really awkward turn of phrase. Maybe it's meant to be a reflection on Stephanie's flakiness, but the word doodah? Not erotic. In fact, kind of anti-erotic. There were moments when I'd be enjoying the story, and a big clunker would just pop up out of nowhere and make me wince a little bit. Still, it was a good, quick read. If any fans want to tell me if the books improve, quality-wise, I'd appreciate it. I'm not sure I want to search out the rest of them.
