Kitty Report: Good To Go

Bemo has reported good news from the most recent vet trip with Dexter: he's actually gained a little weight, meaning that the food we're cramming down him is having some effect. The sore on the back of his leg is indeed from urine scalding from the two nights he missed the potty box and ended up sitting in his own pee until I cleaned him up the next morning. We've given up on confining him and just keeping him out of the bedroom and study (more places to hide) which makes life a little more frustrating for me in the morning when I have to chase him out from behind the sofa, but which does seem to be easier on his fragile little kitty psyche. He's not cleaning himself, so it's up to me to do it, meaning even more baths than the several he's already endured at my hands.

I have to go invest in more baby wipes. I should just buy stock.

So good news, hurrah hurrah. He's on the road to recovery, even if I didn't know it. And the wound will heal itself as long as I keep him clean. No antibiotics needed, which is great. And Kit has a new supply of her eye medication, which is pricey but lasts a while since she doesn't need it constantly.

I guess St. Francis was keeping an eye out on the little furball after all!

Oh thank goodness. Here's many well wishes and a virtual can of tuna for the kitty.
