Oh, holy shneezit

My last entry has had five anonymous comments left from an ISP in Japan, complete with freaky comments about "in February, you'll be in Tokyo to discuss the results of the case" and other stuff along that line. I screen anonymous comments, thankfully.

I've promptly friends-locked everything for now, which is annoying to have to do since I have non-LJ friends who read here, but I'll have to figure something out. I suppose if this turns out to be something that fades back into the woodwork, I could open back up again - I haven't worried much about attracting crazies, since I'm a pretty dull read most days. But this sort of thing is vastly irritating and unnerving.

Arrgh! And I was in such a good mood - I watched 84, Charing Cross Road on the Netflix movie viewer thingy, and loved it to pieces. Only to come back to my LJ and find that somebody's flung poop at it.

argh, that sucks.

I'm probably overreacting, but stuff like this creeps me out. I'm going to open back up again for now, and continue to screen anonymice and hope it doesn't reoccur.

i would react the same. it's part of the reason i went friends only.

Might be one of those cases where some spam LJ is friending or commenting randomly. It's happened to other friends, though the culprits in those cases seem to be Russian. I think it's nothing worse than an annoyance, but it is annoying.

Yeah, I've def. seen some of those around, and it surprised me that it was a Japanese ISP. I'm going to open back up on the assumption that it was a bored Japanese kid and not an evil stalker, but I may have to make changes. I've been spoiled in that I'm too dull to attract most of the crazies!

Sorry about the spam, but so glad you liked the 84, Charing Cross Road movie.

I loooooved it so much. Whoever directed it must really have loved the book, because it was so well done and remarkably faithful. I honestly expected it to turn into a "Shop Around The Corner" sort of thing, and it didn't.

Oh, is that available via "instawatch?" I'm so glad you liked it! I have the book on hold at the library.

It is! I really, really adored it. You could tell that the maker of the movie loved the book as well.
