waves of gentle nostalgia

I'm in a strange sort of nostalgic headspace right now, so I fed some of it by going to the library over lunch and scanning some of my photos of me and my sister as kidlets. (I have a disc of old slides, and cannot find them right now and it is BUGGING THE HECK OUT OF ME.)

Here is a photo of me, my mom, and our Airdale puppy, J.J., when we lived in Korea. J.J. is so innocently puppy here - you can't tell that he's going to grow up to become a giant beast who figures out how to scale our back fence and run for freedom. He dug up my carefully planted strawberry patch (from seeds I got on a birthday card which were probably never destined to germinate anyway) three times, and I replanted them twice before giving them up as a lost cause.

It's an old polaroid that is starting to crack (as you can see) so I'm glad I got it scanned before it started to crumble entirely.

I've never seen a pic of your dad, but you really seem to favor your mom! Cute pup too. Oh, and I'm so glad you get to go back to Paris. No chance of taking an extra day? Well, it's more air miles at least. Maybe you can get enough for a trip-for-fun. I had a feeling you might get to return.

Hee, I'll put up a pic of me and my dad. My sister and I are mostly little clones of him, I think - our overall builds are all from his side of the family. Facially, though - hmm. It's hard for me to see which side they come from.

And boy, do I wish I were accumulating these air miles! I don't think I can, alas, since we're not buying the tickets.

I think if you register with the airline for their miles program, you will collect the miles when you check in. Who buys the ticket shouldn't matter, it's who's flying. Something to look into! ~K

Your mom looks classy.

That's just her clever disguise! Don't drop your guard!

No, I lie. She is indeed classy. Crazy as a sack of bedbugs, but classy.

The scanner is a marvelous invention. I don't think this poor polaroid will last much longer.
