Well, fucknuts

They've brought the axe down on Pushing Daisies. I suppose it's not really surprising - there have been big hints that this was on the way - but I'm still really upset about it. It just seems to be another in a long list of interesting, different, really cool shows that are destined for short lifespans. I'll buy the DVDs, I think.

Bemo is mad that they canceled My Own Worst Enemy, but I've never seen it so I can't commiserate.

My tv-watching is so funny these days. I'm into The Mentalist for the cast, despite the frequently average storylines. (Oh, and Simon Baker is ridonkulously hot. Every time he flashes one of his crooked little smirks I want to fall off the sofa and flail around.) I watch Life, again for the actors (I haven't seen season one yet, so the conspiracy plot is not of any interest to me). I've got my clutch of reality shows. I have Chuck and Criminal Minds. I used to have Numbers but haven't watched it in ages, and I'm not sure why it's not appointment tv for me anymore. I gave up on Heroes and while Bemo loves The Sarah Connor Chronicles, I don't catch it very often. Mad Men is gone for the next nine months, but I'll be glad when it's back. I'd be watching Dexter and True Blood if I had those channels, but I don't so I wait and get them on DVD.

Looking at my current list, I seem to really like cop/mystery based shows, but only if I like the cast and their relationships or a certain flair they seem to have. This is also why none of the CSI incarnations ever appealed to me.

At least they're still airing the rest of the Daisies episodes. Bright side.

Meh. I'm really not going to cry over My Own Worst Enemy going down. Between the predictable writing, the ridiculous plot holes and inconsistencies, and the complete lack of interesting plot arc, Christian Slater's good acting and the abundance of eye candy just aren't enough to keep me watching.

*pulls out DVDs to carry watching through the hiatus*

Yes, exactly! THE SMILE! And the flashes of his emotional devastation KILL me too!

I will miss Ned and those bushy brows. Time to break out Miss Pettigrew and the Fall!

Yeah. *sigh* Heck of a small one, though.

Hee, I've never seen even a minute of it, so I have no idea. But Bemo thought it was a fun show and wanted to see more of it.

It's like, FlirtflirtflirtMANPAINflirtflirt. I love watching his face.

I need to buy Miss Pettigrew. I still haven't seen The Fall, did you like it a lot? I've heard he's good in it but that otherwise it's not a really great movie.

...joins you in flailing over Simon Baker. The rest of the cast is good, too--solving mysteries, just window-dressing.

Life seems to be surviving better on Wednesdays; keeping my fingers crossed.

I record My Own Worst Enemy to watch later because it's too convoluted and boring if I have to sit through commercials. It had started getting interesting, though...and now, goodbye :-(

No Showtime or HBO for me, but mostly, I don't care.

Yeah, unless the storylines on the show just plumet in quality, I'll still be watching. Rrrrrrrrr.

I know a lot of people are unhappy with how Life is going in the second season, but I haven't seen the first one yet so I have no basis for comparison. And as an unashamed Donal Logue fan, I'm even ok with Tidwell.
