I have one. I wanted some of the functions of the iPhone without the pricy plan. It comes in handy for short-use of email/web use. (We used it to confirm airline reservations when on a trip.) We don't have WiFi at home, but libraries and many coffee shops and even some grocery stores have it free.
I use it as a PDA, for my calendar and contact lists.
It was my entry ereader. I found I liked reading on it so much that I bought a full-size ereader.
I have some apps that I like - I have some religious stuff on there that I wouldn't have access to otherwise.
I have games on it.
I have podcasts on it, and I even have some music on it.
That's exactly what I wanted - no requirement for a dataplan, but something that could do all the fun stuff. I'm excited that I got it...and impatient for it to arrive.

I have been very pleased with mine.
