dithering about an iPod Touch

I wanted to buy one for myself for my upcoming birthday, but am dithering. Any opinions, people?

One of your friends here mentioned downloading TV and movies--I forgot about that. I did do that for a while, but don't commute enough to put it to any good use. I think it really depends a lot on your lifestyle. How often are you near wireless, and are these times when it will make sense for you to be using the device vs. your TV or PC? Do you have a lot of bus/plane/solitary time when you'd be using the video (or book) functions? Are you big on games? Obviously, we want the full report if you buy it! :) ~Kate-h

I ended up buying a small (8gig) refurb, but a newer one with a camera because while I do have a digital camera, this one seems more useful for any video I may want to take. And the tv/movie/games thing will probably be useful for long courier trips - I've got a long truck trip coming up in the fall!

I'll have wireless at home, out in several of my favorite coffeehouses, and on the uni campus.
